Woooow! Por fin llegó uno de los momentos soñados de tocar en la isla OFICIALMENTE (porque vamos, ahi es donde me formé como músico). Parecerá una tontería, pero que ganas tenía de dar música. Siento que como ahi es donde me críe y aprendí, e incluso copié técnicas de las que hoy en dia aún utilizo en mi percusión, debía pagar con la moneda que más puedo pagar, que es con un concierto gratis para el público (y especifico para el público, porque el ayuntamiento sí pagó, y lo agradezco en todo momento). QUE EMOCIÓN! He llegado a la ya vieja conclusión de que tocar delante de 10.000 personas que no conoces es mucho mas fácil que tocar delante de 200 personas que te han visto crecer desde pequeño, y que a cada lado que mires del público te despierte una emoción fuertísima, porque mires donde mires hay una persona que ha significado muchísimo para ti y que ahi está, observando. Lo claro es que en el fondo más apoyo no tendrás nunca, pero lo cierto es que por un lado es como que te puede tanta emoción y no estás igual de centrado. Pero daba igual, la emoción, si es buena, se hace mágica. Lo pasé en grande.
Tambien es verdad que en el principio estábamos mas fríos, como calentando, porque las composiciones de Antonio Restucci pedían más ensayos y la verdad, no pudimos pulir todo a tiempo. Pero la cosa fue creciendo, y creo que muchos vibraron gracias a la gran musicalidad de ATIVATA; de Sandro Lustosa el percusionista que todo-lo-toca, de Javi Martin con su famoso bajo (el único de ODB que pudo venir!), de la voz cándida y envolvente de Oli da Silva y del ya mencionado Antonio Restucci, pasando de guitarra a mandola incluso en el mismo tema.
Quiero dar desde aqui las GRACIAS mas profundas y sinceras tanto a los músicos como a la gente que vino a disfrutarlos. Y desde aqui tambien quiero pensar que algún dia conseguiremos llevar a Ojos a Formentera, con todo lo que eso significa, a nivel de sonido y espectáculo. Creo que eso siempre ha sido un factor determinante para llevar Ojos a la isla en plan grande. Pero ilusión y ganas hay por las dos partes asi que no creo que sea dificil, ojalá sea este año 2007!!!
Bueno, asi me despido y que todos tengan un feliz año nuevo, nos vemos por el mundo o por el rinconcito del mundo; mi querida Formentera!

Wow! Finally, one of the moments I’ve been dreaming of… to OFFICIALLY play on the island (because, after all, it’s here that I first started playing music). It might seem silly, but I just really wanted to do a show on Formentera. It’s here that I grew and learned, picked up techniques that I use even today in my percussion, I need to repay that debt however I can, in the form of a free concert for the people (and especially for the people, because the town themselves paid, and I thank them dearly for this). AMAZING! I’ve ended up realizing that it’s easier to play in front of 10,000 strangers than in front of 200 people that saw you grow up, on every side the audience giving you the strongest of emotions, because everywhere you look there’s a person with such intense meaning to you and there they are, watching. Yet all the same, the feeling, if it’s good, makes magic… and that’s what happened tonight.
It’s true that, in the beginning, we weren’t really warmed up enough, because the compositions of Antonio Restucci demand lots of rehearsals and the truth is that we couldn’t get everything polished in time… but slowly, things got going, and I think some people really got into the deep musicality of ATIVATA; of Sando Lustosa, the play-everything percussionist, of Javi Martín with his famous bass (the only one from ODB who was able to make it out!), and the candid and enveloping voice of Oli da Silva… not forgetting, of course, Antonio Restucci, switching between guitar and mandolin in the same song.
I want to give my deepest and truest thanks to all of the musicians, as well as to the people who came to enjoy them. I’d really like to think that some day, we’ll be able to bring Ojos to Formentera, with everything that brings on a sonic and technical level… which, perhaps, has been the key factor in whether to bring the band… but there’s hope and desire on both sides, so I don’t think it should be difficult — hopefully in this year, 2007!!!!
